Stunning resort, love the place. If you want a chilled break away, then this is the place to come. Its not a resort that is "in your face". Take things at your own pace and relax. A visit to the castle is really recommended, preferably on a clear day.

Positively the finest promenade and views , above the town, with cliff lift to ska and unmissable Clock cafe for snacks or lunch
Lovely area of Scarborough with the recently renovated Italian Gardens where there’s a pleasant walk through to the beaches and coastal paths below. The old Clock Tower on the Esplanade was renovated recently too. Public toilets are well kept and there’s also a putting green for the wanna be golfers amongst us !! Highly recommend walking along here which also links up to the Cleveland Way
It's a beautiful walk along the Esplanade with wonderful views of Scarborough and the harbour. There are several hotel bars en route allowing stops for refreshments, one of my favourites is the highlander which has a popular menu which is great value. Alternatively you can walk through the magnificent Esplanade gardens, a maze of interesting zig zag paths. Whilst down there you will come across the ever popular Clock cafe offering a wide variety of food and drink with wonderful views.
